James Morgan Gravley, 38, of Newnan has been arrested on Child Sexual Explotation charges. Until his arrest, Gravley acted as a ” Family Ministry ” Shepherd at the Newnan Church of Christ. 

Investigation starts with cybertip 

On March 6th, 2024 the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit was contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to an IP address that originated in Coweta County that was in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

The resulting CSU investigation led to a search warrant being executed on April 2nd at Gravley’s residence off Buttonbush Court in Newnan. During the execution of the search warrant, multiple electronics, as well as additional evidence were taken to be processed.

As a result of the investigation and evidence gathered, James Morgan Gravley was arrested on April 3rd, 2024.

Booking and Bond

Gravley was booked into the Coweta County Jail and charged with the following charges.

2 Counts of Child Sexual Exploitation – Felony

That charge does not come with a bond by default and one must be set at a first appearance with a Magistrate Judge during a first appearance.

Gravley’s first appearance was on April 4th, 2024 before Magistrate Judge Robert Stokley. According to jail documents, Gravley’s bond was set at $12,000 per count, with bond conditions set. We’ve been unable to confirm the specific bond conditions at this time.

The Coweta County Inmate listings confirm that Gravley has bonded out of the jail and is no longer an inmate.

Booking information provided by the Coweta County Jail shows that Gravley provided the Newnan Church of Christ as his employer.

The booking information also confirms that Gravley has 3 young children.

A search of the Church website currently shows no mention of Gravley being associated with the organization, however an archive of the Church’s website from Oct, 2023 lists “Morgan Gravley” as one of their “Staff Shepherds” for the Family Ministry

Morgan has recently transitioned from the business world where he served for 4 years as the Director of Operations for Chick-fil-a, Bankhead FSR. [ REDACTED ] has served as the Administrative Assistant to Living Hope for Honduras for almost 2 years, of which Morgan is also a Board Member.

We’ve been unable to locate any public comment regarding Gravley’s arrest or any action taken by the Church regarding it, outside of his removal from the website.
