Summary

Just after 1 AM, on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, E911 received a call from a residence off Whitewater Place reporting an unknown woman who was banging on their door, asking for help and telling them to call the police.

Units with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area. When they arrived and began investigating, E911 received another call, this time from a residence off Sweetwater Place, with the caller again stating an unknown woman was ringing the doorbell and screaming for them to call 911.

Units quickly made contact with the suspicious woman and after speaking with her turned their attention to her residence, off Crabapple Court, where she has run from and where she states her husband is still located.

As officers arrived at the residence and started to approach, they noticed two individuals on the porch, with one officer coming upon a deceased male in the driveway.

While units begin fanning out to surround the house, they command the individuals on the porch to come down with their hands up. One male, a juvenile, follows those commands and is taken into custody while the other runs back into the house. Officers then reported hearing a gunshot coming from inside the house.

A unit moving around the side of the house to gain better visibility would then report coming upon another deceased male victim. Units would complete the creation of a perimeter surrounding the house and in an attempt to gain visibility on the suspect deployed a drone.

Units would complete the creation of a perimeter surrounding the house and in an attempt to gain visibility of the suspect, they deployed a drone. Unable to enter the house, the drone would nevertheless provide units with the sighting of a third deceased victim, a female, located in a doorway.

Patrol units on the scene of the incident hold their perimeter as the CCSO Swat team, and shortly thereafter the NPD Swat team, along with their armored vehicles, are called to service.

As units awaited the deployment of the SWAT team, an unknown male was located in the woods behind the house. The male would tell police that he ran from the back of the house as the shooting started and had run into the woods before passing out.

After hours of SWAT operations, the scene was cleared, and the body of the suspect was located within the residence, dead by his own hand.

In total 3 individuals would be detained, treated at a local hospital, and released within hours of the end of the incident.
