Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Assist in Operation Sweet Silence

On September 12th, 2024, a host of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed a slew of high-risk warrant arrests arising from Operation Sweet Silence, targeting criminal gang enterprises in the Columbus, GA area.

Members of the Coweta County Crime Suppression Unit assisted units from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Drug Enforcement Agency, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Russel County Sheriff’s Office ( AL ), US Marshal’s Service, and the Georgia State Patrol in a day-long operation that started in the early morning hours.

In total, the Operation resulted in.

  • 101 Arrests
  • 126 Search Warrants
  • 155 Firearm Seizures ( Including machine guns and Glock switches )
  • $ 273,422 in US Currency
  • $ 279,490,520 worth of illegal drugs seized.
