NCST News Suspect Sheds Clothes, Walks a Mile without Shoes
Just before 7 PM on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, E911 received the first of what would be multiple calls regarding a progressively naked woman in the area of Prescott Ct. and Fieldstone Way.
Over the next few minutes, callers would report that she was moving north on Fieldstone Way towards Fieldstone Lane and was now fully unclothed. Another caller reported she’d continued north on Fieldstone Way and had taken a left headed for Sullivan Rd.
Units that were originally dispatched to the area of Fieldstone Way and Prescott Ct. started tracking north to intercept the frisky suspect, with one deputy locating the suspect’s clothes in the middle of the road at the intersection of Fieldstone Way and Fieldstone Lane.
After a short search of the area, the suspect, Amy Lynn Sides, 37, of Newnan, was located and detained by deputies in the 800 block of Sullivan Road, roughly a mile from where she was first reported.
Deputies were able to get Sides to speak with them after initially refusing to respond. Once they obtained her identity they requested Dispatch to check her for warrants and a possible address of residence.
Dispatch was able to locate, and verify, a warrant for the suspect out of Spalding County.
Arrest and Charges
Amy Lynn Sides was arrested after being cleared by EMS and transported to the Coweta County Jail where she was booked on the following charge.
Public Indecency – 1st or 2nd Conviction ( M )
As of September 5th, Sides remains in the Coweta County Jail on a $300 bond. It’s assumed that upon release from the Coweta County Jail, she’ll be remanded to the custody of Spalding County on her warrant.
Previous Criminal Incidents
A quick search of previous bookings for Sides shows 4 other bookings, all between February and November 2023.
On February 27th, 2023, Sides was arrested by the Newnan Police Department in the area of Country Inn & Suites at 1125 Newnan Crossing Blvd E, and charged with Loitering and Public Drunkenness, both misdemeanors.
Five days later, on March 4th, 2023, Sides was again arrested by the Newnan Police Department in the area of Country Inn & Suites and charged with Trespass on Private Property, a misdemeanor.
Six days later, on March 10th, 2023, Sides was, you guessed it, arrested by the Newnan Police Department, this time at the Springhill Suites at 1119 Bullsboro Dr, and charged with Trespass on Private Property, a misdemeanor.
Finally, on November 21st, 2023, Sides was arrested by the Newnan Police Department after E911 received a call regarding a female needing a welfare check in the area of Hobby Lobby near 1125 Bullsboro Dr. Officers charged Sides with Public Drunkenness, a misdemeanor.
