Were there any witnesses?
Officials have not provided any information about witnesses or any other aspects of the investigation thus far.
We can confirm from radio traffic that night that a number of individuals described as witnesses were transported from the scene to the Newnan Police Department and returned to their vehicles hours later. The exact number of witnesses and what they may or may not have witnessed is unknown.
This is an aspect of the investigation I wouldn’t expect to learn anything about until much further into the legal process.

Did this affect anyone in downtown for the Art Walk?
Outside of witnessing the response by law enforcement and fire, and possibly hearing the discharging of the firearm, I’m unaware of any specific individuals that were impacted.

Why did Owens kill Robinson?
There has been no information released by official resources regarding a motive for Owens shooting Robinson. It’s very early in the investigation and it may be some time, if ever, that we learn the motive behind this event.

Did he shoot her on purpose?
Owens has been charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault. Neither charge would be consistent with an accidental shooting.
That being said, Owens is innocent until proven guilty. He will have the chance to present a defense at trial and that defense may show that he believes the shooting was accidental.

Was there a connection between Owens and Robinson? What was it?
Officially there has been no information provided regarding any connection between Owens and Robinson.
I have spoken to several people in the community who were associated with one or both of them. Most if not all of them have relayed to me that they understood that Owens and Robinson were dating. The length and details of such a relationship haven’t been shared.

There’s been no information provided by official sources regarding why Robinson was in the store that night.

Why is the GBI involved?
The official statements released by both the NPD and GBI failed to address why the GBI was requested and ended up leading the investigation. I’ve requested official confirmation of this decision.
