Failure to Appear
Jesse Daniel Kline, 36, of Grantville was indicted by a Coweta County Grand Jury on July 10, 2024 on a single charge of Child Sexual Exploitation (F) and Peeping Tom (F).
At that time Kline, who was on bail after his arrests in April and May of 2023, was scheduled for a court appearance on August 13, 2024. Kline failed to appear for the court date causing the court to revoke his bond ( $16,500 combined for both charges ) and issue a bench warrant for Kline.
Booking records show that Kline was arrested on November 8th, 2024 on the warrant issued by the court and booked into the Coweta County Jail for Failure to Appear ( F ) as well as the two original charges.
As of November 11th, 2024, Kline remains in the Coweta County Jail without bail as he awaits his next court appearance which the Coweta County Superior Court docket shows as being on February 13th, 2025.
Original Charges
On May 1st, 2024, units with the Newnan Police Department responded to Plato’s Closet in Newnan after being tipped off by members of the store’s staff that a male had made secret recordings of females in the store changing rooms. Jesse Daniel Kline was identified, arrested, and booked on a felony charge of Peeping Tom
Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence off Grandma Branch Road where Kline stayed and executed it within days of his arrest.
According to information provided by investigators, the search warrant turned up a large amount of recorded content. Investigators reached out to the public through their Facebook page asking for anyone with information to contact them and provided a set of dates in late April 2023 that they believed recordings had occured.
Based on evidence gathered with the search warrant and further investigation, Kline, who had bonded out of the Coweta County Jail on May 3rd for the Peeping Tom charge, was again arrested on June 1st, 2023, and charged with a single count of Child Sexual Exploitation, a Felony.
It’s unclear from the information publically released at the time if the Child Sexual Exploitation charge stems from a recording made at the store or from other sources.
Further Updates
I’ve requested further information regarding the case from official sources and will update when that information is received.
UPDATE | November 12th, 2024
I was able to obtain a copy of the July 10th, 2024 indictment for this case which provides a bit more detail as to the charges against Kline. I’ll provide the redacted text from the indictments below.
Original reports were that Kline had made, or at least attempted to make, recordings at Plato’s Closet, however, the text of the indictment seems to clarify that he wasn’t recording and was instead just attempting to observe the victims, one of whom was 16, while they were within the changing room.
Count 1 – Sexual Exploitation of Children
The Grand Jury aforesaid, in the name and behalf of the Citizens of the State of Georgia, charge and accuse JESSE DANIEL KLINE with the offense of Sexual Exploitation of Children (O.C.G.A. 16-12-l00(b)(S)) in that the said accused, in the State of Georgia and in the County of Coweta, between the 25th day of April, 2023, and the 1st day of May, 2023, the exact date of the offense being unknown to the Grand Jury, did knowingly possess and control a video entitled “!fucking daughter alicia(3)(2)(2) – copia.mpg”, material depicting a minor engaged in lewd exhibition of the genitals and pubic area and oral-genital sexual intercourse, sexually explicit conduct, contrary to the laws of the State of Georgia, the good order, peace and dignity thereof.
Count 2 – Peeping Tom
Editor’s Note: I’ve redacted the names of the victims in the text below.
