NCST News Just before 1 AM this morning E911 received a call from a motorist reporting that there was an individual on the road that had been run over. The caller stated the victim was in the 4400 block of Highway 154 just east of Exit 51, between Waffle House and Cheveron.
Deputies who arrived on the scene moments later confirmed there was a deceased male who had suffered trauma from being hit multiple times. The road was closed and the Georgia State Patrol was contacted to investigate the fatality.
Deputies as well as GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) spent hours in the area investigating the cause of the accident, reaching out to local businesses for video and speaking with witnesses.
As of the writing of this article the identity of the victim has not been released. Officials are also not releasing any information regarding a possible suspect in the incident.

GSP Preliminary Statment
0n 07-05-2024, at 12:52am, Troopers were dispatched to a hit-and-run vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on SR 154 In Coweta County, GA. The investigation determined that an unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian in the eastbound lane of State Route 154 near Mile Post 8. After impact, the unknown vehicle failed to stop to render aid or stand by for law enforcement. Due to poor lighting conditions of the roadway, three additional vehicles struck the pedestrian lying in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The pedestrian’s information is not available for release currently.
The Georgia State Patrols Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) responded and is assisting in the investigation.
