The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division arrested Melvin Randall Huff Jr., 52, of Sharpsburg, on June 3rd after warrants were taken out as the result of a months-long investigation.
This is the second time Huff has been arrested as the result of the ongoing investigation. On May 2nd, 2024 investigators with the CCSO served a search warrant at Huff’s residence in the 200 block of Willis Rd. During that search investigators located a large amount of drugs at the residence. On May 6th, Huff was arrested and charged with drug possession. During that search investigators also took Huff’s electronic devices as evidence.
The investigation of those devices led to further warrants being sworn out against Huff for child molestation and felony Child Sexual Exploitation charges. Huff, who had bonded out of jail on May 7th, a day after his arrest for the drug charges, was located and arrested by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division on June 3rd.
According to a statement by the CCSO, the investigation into Huff started when they received allegations of Child Molestation.
It’s worthy of noting that Huff’s residence is within 1000 feet of both Lee Middle School and Willis Road Elementary School.
Drug Arrest
On May 2nd, 2024, investigators with the CCSO served a search warrant on Huff’s residence in the 200 block of Willis Rd. During that search, they located a large amount of drugs for which he was arrested on May 6th, and charged with the following.
On May 6th, 2024, Melvin Randall Huff Jr. was booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charges, all felonies.

On May 7th, following his first appearance, Huff was able to bond out and remained out on bond until his June 3rd arrest.
Child Molestation & Child Sexual Explotation Charges
On June 3rd, 2024, members of the CCSO Warrant Division located and arrested Huff on warrants sworn out by investigators after searching the electronic devices seized in the May 2nd search warrant execution.
On June 3rd, 2024, Melvin Randall Huff Jr. was booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charges, all felonies.

As of June 4th, 2024, Huff remains in the custody of the Coweta County Jail and is being held without bond.

On May 3rd, 2024
On Thursday, May 2nd,2024, Investigators with the Coweta County Criminal Investigation Unit were conducting a follow up investigation at the 200 block of Willis Road in reference to a Child Molestation case. During the course of this investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence and a substantial quantity of drugs and currency were recovered. No arrests were made on scene. This case is still under investigation.
On June 4th, 2024
After forensic analysis of Mr. Huff’s electronic devices, Mr. Huff was charged with Child Molestation and three counts of Child Sexual Exploitation. Mr. Huff was taken into custody by the Coweta County Warrant Division on 06/03/2024.
The initial investigation was conducted after allegations of Child Molestation were reported to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
