The Murder of Olivia Faith Robinson
Just after 9 PM on September 20th, 2024, E911 started receiving calls regarding an unknown problem, person down at OZ Tactical located at 1 East Court Sq in Downtown Newnan.
Units with the Newnan Police Department, Newnan Fire Department, and a Coweta County Fire Rescue EMS were immediately dispatched to the location. As they began to respond dispatch informed them they’d received additional calls stating that a weapon had been discharged.
Units arrived on the scene within minutes, entering the OZ Tactical location and locating Olivia Robinson, 28, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Units attempted to render aid however, she had already succumbed to the injury.
A crime scene was quickly established and the investigation into the incident started. The Newnan Police Department immediately contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who arrived within the hour and has officially taken the lead on the Investigation.
Multiple witnesses, as well as the suspect, were transported to the Newnan Police Department for questioning that lasted long into the early morning hours. Crime scene technicians would arrive and process physical evidence from the crime scene.
In the early morning hours of September 21st, 2024, William Brannon Owens, 38, was transported from the Newnan Police Department to the Coweta County Jail where he was booked on the following charges: Murder and Aggravated Assault.
